Adding the Lakers name to the list of teams that win the state championship didn’t seem likely two weeks ago, but this team showed a great deal of determination, grit and desire in knocking off Bountiful 2-0 to claim the 4A State Championship Saturday at Juan Diego High School.

Hayley Bowden picked a great time to score her first goal of the year, slamming the ball into the net midway through the first half, giving Bonneville a 1-0 edge.

Britty McGregor did a terrific job in the net for the Lakers all game long while Jaiden Thornock added an insurance goal late in the game to give Bonneville the title.
